Globe Gallery was proud to present Jolly Days – Railway Posters Revizited, a nostalgic and sharply satirical exhibition by Chris Donald, creator of the legendary Viz comic. In this series, Donald brought his signature wit and offbeat humour to a collection of reimagined vintage railway posters, casting a playful eye over the quirks and charm of traditional British seaside holidays.

With bold visuals and clever wordplay, the works celebrated local holiday destinations while poking fun at the absurdities of British culture. From soggy sandwiches on the beach to the awkward glamour of caravan parks, each piece captured the unique character of the places we love (and love to grumble about).

This tongue-in-cheek exhibition offered more than just laughs—it invited visitors to reflect on the joy of the mundane and the familiarity of homegrown traditions, all through Donald’s irreverent and culturally rich lens.

Signed prints from the exhibition are available to purchase in the Globe Gallery shop and online, offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of Donald’s sharp, satirical take on British life.

Jolly Days formed part of a broader celebration of creative diversity at Globe Gallery, presented alongside bold contemporary street art in Blank Canvas—two distinct voices, united by their shared spirit of reinvention and cultural commentary.
