Getting to Know Paddy Returns to Globe’s New Home
Following its initial success, Getting to Know Paddy returns for a second showing at Globe’s newly renovated premises at 97 Howard Street. This poignant exhibition celebrates the life and work of the late Stephen McGinty, whose creativity flourished despite his struggles with schizophrenia. Through his vibrant paintings and deeply personal poetry—discovered by his family after his passing—Stephen offered a unique and powerful insight into his inner world.
This special second showing comes ahead of an auction in April 2025, where selected works from the collection, generously donated by the McGinty family, will be sold to raise vital funds for Globe. As we settle into our new home, this exhibition serves as both a tribute to Stephen’s enduring legacy and a reflection on the importance of mental health awareness.
Visitors will once again have the opportunity to experience Stephen’s work in an intimate setting, surrounded by family, friends, and admirers. Through his art and words, his voice continues to resonate, reminding us of the power of creativity in navigating life’s challenges.
