Long and Liston’s work is about connection, the temporal links made between disparate and isolated memories are the inspiration for a constructed system of drawing installation.
Unfixed, the image stock is comprised of a mixture of psychologically charged forms derived from the human figure and different environments that have been pieced together from newspaper cuttings and old family photographs. Processes of tracing and amalgamation mean the personal becomes lost in collective memory, causing deja vu and an unidentifiable sense of nostalgia.
