This Late Show saw the return of Globe’s interactive installation ‘The Blossom Tree.’ We invited visitors to fashion flowers out of their own personal messages on the theme: ‘What Comes After?’ Approaching the sensitive subject of death with curiosity and optimism, we aimed to encourage reflection on our coinciding exhibition, the final instalment of Gareth Hudson’s series, ‘Everything was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt.’
The Late Shows is an annual after-dark programme of events and exhibitions centring on the cultural venues in Newcastle Gateshead that are usually closed in the evening. Museums, galleries and visitor attractions stay up late to encourage people to do something cultural with their evening, in celebration of the international event ‘Museums at Night.’
