This a premiere showing of Stefan Gec’s digital animation work ‘Surface Tension’, inspired by the Tyne wreck marker buoy rescued from the scrap yard. `Surface Tension examines the relationship between the buoy and the river which, during the lifetime of that buoy, has changed beyond recognition. It was projects onto the windows of the gallery and viewable from the street outside, after dusk when the gallery is closed.
`Surface Tension’ was the third and final part of the gallery’s ‘Blind Corner’ series
of window-based commissions.
