Icing Sugar Grids

Alex Riley

29 October – 27 November, 1999

Offsite

‘Icing Sugar Grids’ was a large-scale architectural sculpture, which dealt with concepts of environment and our awareness of the space around us through the fragile properties of icing sugar. The work consisted of a vast network of sugar grids that span the entire space of the site. The purpose of the project was to develop opportunities for both adults and children to explore the arts as a forum for communication and pleasure.
