Globe Gallery, alongside the Discovery Museum worked with The Urban Games project and graphic artist Tommy Anderson to host outdoor stencil art workshops for young people.

The Urban Games is a three-year project that hosts an annual games event for young people from across the Tyne and Wear region. The games offer a wide range of urban arts and sports inspired by Hip Hop culture as well as some extreme sports.

Each year, young people work with with cultural partners to develop and plan the workshops and annual event. The Urban Games event offers a mixture of workshops and competitions for young people to attend, celebrating local urban culture, creative and sporting activities. Urban Games activities include: break dancing, DJ-ing, MC-ing and rapping, street dancing, Parkour, skateboarding, BMX-ing and basketball. The young people involved in running the Urban Games come from a variety of backgrounds but are united through their love of the urban sports and hip-hop culture.
